Simien Experience Tours is a passionate Ethiopian travel company dedicated to showcasing the true beauty, history, and cultural richness of Ethiopia. We focus on authentic, responsible, and high-quality experiences, allowing travelers to explore the country beyond typical tourist routes.
Our roots are deeply connected to the Simien Mountains, one of Africa’s most spectacular highland landscapes and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, our vision expanded to include Ethiopia’s historic routes, wildlife regions, and indigenous cultures.
About the Founder
Biniyam Wolday (Bini)
Born near the foothills of the Simien Mountains, our founder grew up hiking highland trails, herding livestock, and learning the rhythms of mountain life. After becoming a professional trekking guide, he spent years leading travelers from around the world through Ethiopia’s most remote and beautiful landscapes.
He founded Simien Experience Tours with a simple goal:
“To let travelers see Ethiopia through the eyes of the people who live here.”
Today, he leads a team of experienced guides, drivers, cooks, and coordinators who share the same love for Ethiopia’s land and culture.
Our History
Simien Experience Tours was founded by a group of Ethiopian trekking guides and tourism professionals who grew up around the Simien Mountains. After years of guiding international travelers, they recognized a need for a company that combined local knowledge, professionalism, and ethical tourism.
